Once upon a time, I was all: "NOBODY CAN DO PERIOD SEX WELL, EVER." In my LJ. Upon which, a friend from the Stargate fandom was all: "WELL THEN, I SUPPOSE I HAVE BEEN CHALLENGED. GOOD DAY, SIR." And she wrote me fic that blew me away and made me eat my words.

I think you guys would do that too. Which just proves the point that it's the WRITING that makes the story, not the subject matter.
