This is...I don't even know if I can articulate how much I enjoyed it. Your writing is just phenomenal-- your use of imagery and all the sensory details you include are so powerful and make the whole piece so incredibly tangible, both in terms of the actual scene and what's happening, but also emotionally. It's incredible that you're able to take these people who are so fleshed out and defined and make them your own without compromising the integrity of their characters.
This?
Also, um, apparently The X-Files to me = magic realism. Who knew? Is made of so much win it makes my heart hurt.
And I think my favorite part had to be this:
Before they unpack further, Scully enlists Mulder’s help cleaning the house. There isn’t much to do – Scully squeezes four lemons into a bucket of water and together they run citrus soaked rags along the floors and walls. Halfway through Mulder decides that Scully’s toes need to be cleaned, and then her legs, and then she’s on her back on the sun-bleached floor. Everything smells like lemons and she licks the taste off Mulder’s skin. Stunning.
GREAT WORK, I really hope the film got your juices flowing more than usual and we get to read more soon!
