I love Mulder’s single mindedness and humour – plenty of that here. The way he always needs to be centre of attention even when there is a conversation going on that he isn’t part of. Does being an ghost allow him to be more childlike I wonder? Board now the non-dead occupants of the house are having a discussion.
Scully’s reactions are spot on. I am a scientist, she whispers. To the faucet. To the soap dish. I am not insane.
I do find myself wanting to “kill” (if you can kill a ghost) Mulder at the end though. Withdrawn Scully is so upsetting but if she doesn’t have to live without him why should she.
