I just... buy it. I buy all of it. That Kalinda (and Diane, yes!) felt superior in the beginning, for not being the way they assumed Alicia to be. And that meeting her, it STILL took awhile to realize that she's... ALICIA, and better than all the shit she's gone through, what K's done to her. I believe that Kalinda meant to keep her distance, but... yeah. How CAN you? Moth, flame.
You know the part that stood out for me?
She adds something about her son and porn, tone lowered, leaning forward like a secret. (And she may need this job, this win, but it’s clear what she really wants is a friend).
I just watched this episode... in these little moments where Alicia is BEGGING for connection, and Kalinda just WON'T GO THERE, and as much as I've been asking myself why Kalinda let herself become Alicia's friend, it's almost more tragic to see the moments where she TRIES to avoid it.
But you can't dodge love. Or fate. Gah.
You're too good at showing Kalinda's brokenness and making me FEEL it -- the tragedy of changing for the better, too late.
